100th year Anniversary Celebration The committee continues planning for various activities. Mark your calendars now. Thursday, April 29, 2010, 6:45pm. The women are planning a Vintage Fashion Show in connection with our 100th anniversary. Tickets are a suggested price of $7.00 for 10 years and older. Saturday, May 1, and Sunday, May 2, 2010 will be our big celebration weekend. On Saturday, May 1, 2010 we will be commemorating our 100th year on the corner of 84th Street and Byron Center Avenue. A celebration banquet will be held in the ROCK, beginning at 6:00 p.m. A great evening is planned with former pastors, sons of the church, friends, relatives, and you! There will be presentations, greetings, music, good food, and fellowship. We will recognize many special people for their contributions to this ministry and we would love to have you join us too. There will be a free will offering at the banquet to offset the costs of the event. We will begin taking reservations for the banquet on Sunday, April 11 and continuing through April 25 (which will be the deadline). Call the church office (878-1709) to make a reservation for the banquet. We will have convenient stations set up in the narthex, fellowship room and in the ministry center by the ROCK. We will also have a sample of the 100th Anniversary Booklet and will be taking orders for that at the same time. Price for the Booklet is $10 and payment is expected at time of order .The celebration continues into Sunday, May 2 and we are excited about the worship services planned for that day. In the 9:30 am service, our special guests (former pastors, spouses and special musicians) will be participating in the service as well as assisting with communion. Following the service, there will be a time of fellowship and refreshments in the ROCK for all. At the 6:30 pm service, “The Burgess Brothers” will be presenting a concert in the ROCK. We hope all of you will return for that event and that you will invite all your family and friends. Refreshments will be served after the concert. Join us as we close out this weekend of recognizing a century of ministry, serving the Lord here at this “Cornerstone for Christ” to the community of Byron Center. Sunday, May 30, 2010. A special Memorial Day Service honoring all our past and present veterans, and current Servicemen/Women. This service will have a power point presentation along with special music and Color Guard.
